8 months old baby

Hi mummies just wanna ask if 8 months old can start drink barley drink for cough as my friend told me I not sure Shld I give or not

my baby had cough when she was about 6 months old, we gave her milk as usual and made sure she got good rest..she stayed away from infantcare for few days so she could sleep at home as infantcare not very restful with other babies crying.not necessary to feed barley drink just good rest and they will recover well
