Tested twice and positive - what's next?

Based on the calculator and last period I'm around 6 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. A lot were suggesting to wait till 7 to 8 weeks for the first scan. Is that the case? I'm actually travelling tomorrow so was wondering if there's anything I should look out for. Any general advice would help, thank you!

Hi! Congrats on testing positive! As long as no pain or bleeding there is actually no real rush. Sometimes people only do first scan in week 7-8 because that’s when you should be able to see baby and the heartbeat. Just make sure wherever you go you know nearest hospital just in case! Watch your diet and avoid raw or undercooked food. My rule of thumb is to go for piping hot and cooked food (no chicken rice etc as the meat has been hanging there for half a day). Have fun at your trip! Oh and make sure you are taking your folic acid, this is important!

Congratulations! Totally agree. On another note, try not to carry heavy stuff such as luggages. Enjoy your trip!
