My 10 months old baby is energetic. She does not have a nap during day time. Would it impact to her growth hormone?

It is common for babies around nine to 10 months to start refusing naps. This is because babies of this age are going through major developments leaps. This would both excite and also cause some anxiety in them. At this age, you will probably notice your baby is starting to develop better motor skills, such as being able to crawl, stand and squat (supported) and even take a few steps with support. Your baby may be refusing naps to ensure that he/she is close to you constantly (for comfort). His/her sleeping needs is also changing, usually dropping from having to take two naps to just one, as part of a developmental milestone. If your baby is refusing to take any nap, you can try: - Napping with your baby - Identifying your baby’s early cues of getting tired and start to settle her for a nap before she starts feeling the tiredness. Sometimes a baby would find it difficult to fall asleep when he/she is tired. This frustrates them and they may end up refusing a nap altogether. Otherwise, try putting your baby to sleep earlier in the night to ensure that she gets sufficient sleep. It is likely that your baby would be able to sleep earlier if she has missed her nap times in the day. In all, it is common for babies this age to start refusing naps in the day. It is part of their development and is unlikely to affect her growth. Check with your doctor if you are really worried.
