Spit up through nose

Mummies, is spit up through nose common? Baby just went through one episode of it and gave me quite a heart attack. Brought him to a&e where doctor said it’s just over feeding or gas.. what do we do if this happens again? Any mums with personal exp? Unable to sleep as I’m super worried and traumatized by baby’s reaction when he spit up through nose and couldn’t breathe well 😔
