I would tell her that she should not ruin her peace of mind for something as frivolous as this as everyone in the world is not doing and aiming towards a goal and since they are idle, they spend time and derive pleasure in pinning others down. I would tell her that your family knows who you are and knowing a language or not doesn't define you so she need not bother about this.
