How would you compare the love for a spouse and the love for the children?

Joe rogan pretty much summed it up for me, you have two bananas a brown one and a fresh one, your child is there and you both want a banana, you give the child the fresh one and you eat the brown one. Whereas if it was my wife, you know damn straight she is getting that brown one.
