Congratulations on your pregnancy 🎉 Yes it's too early now. I was doubtful too about when to start buying things. Sometimes the sales were tempting. But later I realised that almost every month there's sales (1.1, 2.2, 3.3 and so on in addition to the festival sales) So the price difference wasn't much. I'm currently week 35 and I only started buying baby clothes n stuff online last week. Also ordered for baby cot and beddings but to be delivered later. I have samples for diapers, baby wipes, diaper changing mat, feeding bottles etc. So whichever the baby is comfortable with I'll buy accordingly. Even stroller and carrier I'm thinking of trying with the baby as those are expensive and would be a waste if baby don't like it 😀
My MIL and mum are both superstitious and I don't want to hurt their sentiments either. But the main reason for me not buying things in advance is what I mentioned earlier. Not much difference in price and also don't want cramp the place.
